Thanks Jed, yes there could be many reasons, stability is one of them, people need to feel secure, it could also be because you just feel good where you are, like in a familiar environment, loyalty as well, which are all good reasons to stay as long as you can keep developing yourself in the company.

Lateral moves should also help learn new skills but of course there is a limit, so looking at it from the positive side of things you probably were able to develop during these moves at least a bit!
